This leatherette is not the original factory part. It is a new aftermarket replacement part.

This leatherette comes with adhesive on the back side for easy installation and it is not too demanding to install but you need to be careful and do some cleaning of the door before applying.
In addition, it is strongly recommended to reinforce this part by adhesion because the end part is easily peeled even when leather is pasted.
The material is synthetic leather.
This leatherette is exclusive for ”Nikon S”.
It does not fit Nikon S2, S3, S4, SP.

This unit has been thoroughly inspected, cleaned, scratches touched-up with paint, light seals replaced, batteries replaced, date and time set, and film-tested in an OM-2N. Works perfectly! Picture #6 isn't the clearest shot, but on an actual photograph it's clear--this is a marked-up pdf.
The Recordata Back 3 Quartz model is intended for the OM-1N, -2N, -2-S/Prog, -3, and -4 models only. There is no wire pigtail to connect to a preceding generation -1 or -2. Triggering the imprint LED requires an electrical contact between the back and the inside of the camera body—an electrode just southeast of the lower film rail—available only on these models.
Olympus evidently didn’t think these devices, or interest in them, would be sustainable beyond the first few years of the new millennium, but here we are. So, the year I set on the date function is 01 (representing 2021). The date and time functions are staying up to the second vis-à-vis my iPhone. It is set for Central Daylight Time (I’m in Milwaukee). I do not believe there is an instruction manual for how to set it; I just intuited my way through it—so it can’t be that hard!
